In April takes place the 19th edition of FILM, VIDEO, PHOTO FAIRS to which the school has enabled us a free admission. It is the largest in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe event associated with this topic. It brings together a group of Polish and foreign exhibitors - manufacturers and distributors of the latest hardware and accessories, photography, film and audio. At the fairs are held various kinds of lectures and workshops. We had a chance to learn the secrets of travel photography, at a meeting with Mark Arcimowicz, a photographer from the set of the travel program "Women on the edge of the World." Another meeting was held with a Polish photographer Tomasz Tomaszewski, who talked about why shooting in Poland is interesting. We took advantage of the workshops of the light in the film and photography- its role and purpose. The knowledge I gained will be helpful to me in the future. New of this year fairs was a mobile app whereby visitors have facilitating communication with Exhibitors.

"Night encounters with film" have been held at our school every year for three years. Young people interested in watching films together, meeting cinema people and discussing films gather there. The film night program is prepared earlier for the assumed theme. The invited guests devote their talks to issues that are popular among young people. The characteristic climate is also created by night time of showings and meetings. Those who came once want to meet again next year. The following themes of film nights have been carried out so far:
"Janusz Kamiński - a film producer of Oscar calibre" During this meeting a talk was given about life and works of J. Kamiński, his film projections and also a meeting was held with invited guests: Mr Jacek Gwizdała, a film producer, and Mr Jan Gazicki, a cameraman and a beginning director, who shot feature film "Nic wielkiego" [ "Nothing special" ] with our students. “Oscars, Golden Bears, Eagles - how to recognise a good film? " During this meeting students had watched films awarded at films festivals and then they had the chance to talk to cameramen Piotr and Stanisław Śliskowski and students from Łódź Film School. This year: “Polish cult cinema”, Polish cult films projections, a talk on cult cinema and a meeting with our graduates: Małgorzata Goździk, an actress from Powszechny Theatre in Łódź and the founder of “Zamiast” Theatre, and Jakub Brzękowski, a film and TV editor cooperating in filming “Top model” TV programme. These encounters have become an inherent part of our school’s film life. They give students the opportunity to meet professionals but also our graduates who are only beginning their artistic career. The films watched together become the starting point for further discussions. Film education in Polish schools is treated as an exotic caprice these days. Film contact is limited to rare cinema trips or watching adapted school set books at school. Trying to change this situation our school created a film class. A two-year-course of activities includes film workshops and the history of film. During the history of film activities young people get to know who are the creators of films, such as: Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock or Quentin Tarantino. Participating in film workshops students learn how to work with a camcorder, set and promote their productions. Youth has also a unique occasion to meet some professionals from the film world like filmmakers, cameramen or movie producers. Graduates of the film class choose for their further education humanistic studies, for example: film schools, film studies or cultural studies.
